About the Author
Resty S. Odon is a seasoned freelance writer and editor based in Bayambang, Pangasinan, with roots in both Manila and the Pangasinan countryside. A DOST scholar and B.S. Biology graduate from UP Baguio, he built a diverse career in Manila’s knowledge process outsourcing industry before establishing himself as a published essayist and magazine contributor and editor.
His works have appeared in Philippine Daily Inquirer, Philippine Star, Manila Times, and asianTraveler, and he later authored "Being Filipino This Side of Town," a reflective essay collection on Filipino identity.
Since 2016, he has served as Public Information Officer for the Bayambang LGU, producing historical and cultural books and managing the town’s official media platforms.
In 2024, he won third prize in the Doreen G. Fernandez Food Writing Award and became a guest columnist for Northern Times in 2025.
Apart from overseeing the documentation of LGU accomplishments from day to day, his most recent endeavors are heavily focused on overlooked topics, including his personal experiences in public service as well as the history and traditional culture of his hometown.
