HISTORY OF BARANGAY
MALIMPEC
A long time ago, there was a rich couple
by the name of Don Buenaventura de Vera and Doña Juana Monderin. The couple was
well-regarded because they were supportive of the needs of the barangay for its
development. During their time, they were recognized to be their leaders and thus
were addressed as Don and Doña.
One day, Don Buenaventura was going
around his agricultural land to inspect his crops. Unknown to him, village folks
took notice of him making his rounds in his vast landholding, so they would warmly
tell him, “Don Buenaventura, malimpec no???? lamet so pakayaryarian mo!” Since that
time, the locals referred to their village as “Malimpec” and in time the name
was recognized by the villagers.
They also called the place Malimpec
because it is surrounded by water and because of its circular shape.
