EDITORIAL
It stands for Women's Month. It is Fire Prevention Month. It is also Anti-Rabies Month. It is also the month to celebrate World Water Day and World Earth Day.
March means a lot of things, as far as local governance is
concerned.
It stands for Women's Month. It is Fire Prevention Month. It is also Anti-Rabies Month. It is also the month to celebrate World Water Day and World Earth Day.
The LGU, therefore, finds itself in a whirlwind of
activities this month, with the schedule of events often overlapping with those
of other events. But the hard task of implementing all this is all worth it in
the end if we consider the impact each activity leaves in its aftermath.
This is on top of March being the month of school graduation
days, and so we raise a toast in honor of all the graduates, wishing them
blessings on the next exciting phase of their lives. After graduation day, let
us not forget, comes the start of summer, also within this month.
March, of course, is also a month filled with activities as
a prelude to the annual town fiesta, but let us stop there lest we preempt the
Big Day.
To all our fellow Bayambangueños: May all these frantic
activities raise public awareness on women’s rights, fire prevention, the real
threat of rabies, the need to keep our waterways clean, and the need to protect
the environment. And may everything else this month stands for be worth
celebrating and preparing for!
