Pangasinan Words in Fluid Dynamics

Here's another interesting set of words in the amazing Pangasinan language: our words for water and other liquids, particularly for how they move or behave.

Mabalasubos - gushing or flowing out in big amounts

Magalasugos - flowing fast with gushing sound?

Manbusawsaw - flowing out in spurts

Mankibwal - welling up? bobbing up?

Manlelwag - boiling

Unaagos, Manag-agos - flowing gently, meandering

Manpúlagsi, Manpulasí, Mampulaksi - tumatalsik; splattering

Mansapli - splattering from outside, as in raindrops from a windowsill

Manturo - tumutulo; dripping continuously fast;

Example: Paturoan mo pa may timba na danum pian kapawil ko napno la.

Manterter - pumapatak-patak; dripping slowly or bit by bit

Matalareter - dripping fast?

Mambusitsit - spurting?

Mammalasemes - ?

Mapalakapak, Mabayakabak - falling down with a lot of 'splat' sounds

Manmuldo - used to refer to, for example, mucus moving up and down one's nostrils that oftentimes form into bubbles; also used for eyes that suddenly bulge, protrude, or open wide out of surprise

Mabulos, Mabulbulos - flowing out freely; figurative: bukal sa kalooban

Manlepwa - umaapaw; overflowing

Makilot - murky

Malinew - clear

Mambasa - turning wet

Mampugso - shooting from a tube

Man-elnab - ?

Makbol, Makmakbol - flowing vigorously?

Manyapbol - syn. of makbol

Masubol - has lots of springs?

Mannguyngoy - sniffling

Mansanitsit - sizzling, as in water in contact with fire or extreme heat

Malasaw - malabnaw; thin in consistency

Mapalet - malapot; thick in consistency

Mampikkat - quite wet and sticky at the same time; viscous?

Ambasa - wet

Ambasa-basa - very wet

Apuyot - super-saturated with water

Manumey - overly wet as to have water flowing slowly from it

Manasusot - scalding hot

Mantampuwag - naknakno; punung-puno, nag-uumapaw; overflowing

Inmekat, Naekat, Naekatan, Nakatan - natuyuan?; dried up

Inesep - absorbed

?Mantaptapew, Tapew-tapew, Manletletaw, Letaw-letaw - floating

Mansipuak

Example: Mansipuak so daluyon.

Manimey - same as Manumey

Mansibuag - being thrown forcefully into

Example: Sibuagan/sibuan moy danum may popoolan mo ta ni maksil lay apoy to.

Sibuan - throw water gently into

Manpulsit - shooting in a fine line from or through a tiny hole

Example: Insaliwan ak nen nanay ko na pulpulsit (water gun).

Manpugsit - releasing a thick fluid accidentally

Example: Aga akaurong si Juan ta manpugsit, ta akapangan amo na abangles.

Tayaketek - dropping in a patter, as in the beginning of a strong rain
