Outline of LGU Services (Units, Departments, Agencies)

Scope of LGU Workload

Have you ever thought of the typical day-in-the-life of a town's chief? Or at least the random things he or she is occupied with on a given day?

Let us pause a bit to get a bird's eye view of the length and breadth and depth of the scope of a local chief executive's concerns and, by extension, his/her administrator, alter egos, and other subalterns, and by further extension, his/her information officer.

Take a look at the scope of the workload -- each area of equal importance as the rest. Yes, an LGU is like a human body or a cell, with each part having a significant role for the whole thing to work right. Remove one part of the cell, say the endoplasmic reticulum, and the organism gets sick, or worse.

A local chief executive has to try his/her best to make the whole body to function properly within her limited jurisdiction with the help of a limited number of personnel and an inadequate amount of resources -- yes, inadequate.

Hope you appreciate your local government better.
