A Bayambangueño has reached one of the highest levels of government positions in the field of education: Prof. Prospero 'Popoy' de Vera.
De Vera became, among other things, UP Diliman professor, UP Diliman Chancellor, and Chairman of the Commission on Higher Education.
Another one with remarkable achievement is Jose D.V. Camacho, who is the dean of the Graduate School of UP Los Baños. He is the son of PSU Elementary School teacher Basilisa Camacho.
