Sapang
Barangay Sapang is one of the biggest barangays
located in the northern part of the town.
During the early days, a tree called “sapang” grew
in abundance in this place. This tree is relatively tall with broad leaves and
reddish bark, which the early folks used in making ropes. This is where name of
the barangay evolved.
The name never changed even when the
colonizers settled in this place.
Sapang Elementary School was established in
1931. The Sapang Catholic Chapel, the Barangay Hall, the Day Care Center, the
Barangay Plaza and the Auditorium are but some of the manifestations of
transformation and progress in Sapang.
