New idioms under investigation


Pakanen takay dalin. (I will make you eat soil.) - "Papahiyain kita"; "I will put you in a bad light"

Pairong mod palpal. (Have him seated on a palpal?) - ?

Anto itakoko mo ak? Ag nayari. (What? You will make me as your hat? No way!) - ?
3, anto itakoko mo ak la? Aga nayari!-By example and by analogy, impanaral da itayo na ateng tayo, nen akaaral tila, mankinon tila ya agtila anta so nanlapuan tayo. that is the meaning of itakoko, figuratively speaking.

Maestra (teacher) - mauley, mibabali; pakialamero; impertinently busying with other people's things or affairs

Balitok ya impan-utek (golden brain) - matalino; intelligent

Mapetang lan panangaro (ardent love) - uttered to address the spirits of the dead: Example: "Diman kilad pasen ya kulaan yo la natan ed tawen ta mapetang lay panangaro yo."
