History of Barangay Paragos
According to historians, early residents of the barrio or barangay were mainly engaged in fishing activity as source of their livelihood and that they usually build their cogon houses near or along riverbanks. These composed of Ilocanos and some were puro Pangasinense with family name of Ragos thereby to identify themselves they called their place PARAGOS from the root word in local dialect Inagos – due to whenever the Riverbannk overflows, their houses were devasted, due to erosion and were carried away by the strong water current. Since that time the place was called Paragos.
