Old folks, says Bacnono, got its name during Spanish era. A certain Victor a Spanish soldier, was smitten by a sweet voice of Maria, a lady in the forest, who believed to be an enchanted lady, that whoever hear her voice and whoever who attempt to see her, they say that they won’t go back.

The story starts, Victor and Santiago are good friends, Victor a Spanish and a soldier and Santiago a Filipino, who lives here in Bacnono. One time as they walk around 8:00 in the evening, along the shine, they hear a very sweet voice of a lady, singing when Victory hear the sweet voice as if his whole body is trembling. He can’t control himself. Santiago says please don’t go, no, no, no, go back, back now, no, no, no, when the Victor hears the words, back no, no that’s the time old folks, got name BACNONO.
