Pugso / Sulpit

 Pugso / Sulpit

Pugso or sulpit (sumpak in Tagalog or palsoot in Ilocano?) refers to a type of indigenous blowgun made out of the hollow stems or stalks of papaya leaves, bamboo, or rice plant, with bugayong or monggo seeds or balls of moistened paper as pellets.

This bamboo pugso uses another piece of bamboo tube with matching stick as a blowing or pushing device.

This implement is used as a toy or a weapon and hunting device.

Salbatana also means blowgun.
