Bayambang is a first-class municipality in the southern part
of Pangasinan Province, in Region I. It covers approximately 143.94 square
kilometers and is politically divided into 77 barangays, with a population of
around 200,000.
Founded in 1614, Bayambang has a long and distinguished
history. It once served as the fifth capital of the First Philippine Republic.
Bayambang is widely known as the “Onion Capital of
Pangasinan” and the “Corn Belt of Northern Luzon.”
It is also the home of the binasuan dance.
Its growing tourism industry is anchored by notable
attractions and record-holding landmarks, including the towering bamboo statue
of Saint Vincent Ferrer, recognized by Guinness World Records as the tallest
bamboo sculpture in the world, and the municipality’s Guinness World Record for
the longest barbecue.

Bayambang, a first-class municipality in Pangasinan, Region
I, is currently waging an aggressive anti-poverty program called Rebolusyon
Laban sa Kahirapan. Among other things, it is anchored on a robust infrastructure
development program, creating facilities that strengthen public services,
expand opportunities, and improve the quality of life of every Bayambangueño.
This commitment is reflected in major investments such as the Balon Bayambang Events
Center, the Municipal Hall Annex Building, improved Rural Health Units with 4
new RHUs, eight municipal warehouses, three MSWDO buildings. Ongoing is the construction of a new college,
the Bayambang Polytechnic College and the BPC Training Center. Bayambang is also
attracting new investors through such private initiatives as St. Vincent Ferrer
Prayer Park, BYB Metro, and BlueSky Theme Park, and the Julius K. Quiambao Medical
and Wellness Center. These projects embody a revolution made visible—in
concrete, steel, spaces, and structures built to serve people and create
opportunities.
