Brief Description: Saint Vincent Ferrer Prayer Park

Saint Vincent Ferrer Prayer Park

Saint Vincent Ferrer Prayer Park (SVFPP) is a spiritual haven located in Brgy. Bani, Bayambang, Pangasinan.

It was built in 2019 by the family of businessman and later mayor, Dr. Cezar Quiambao, and is a privately owned property managed by the local parish church.

Its centerpiece is the record-breaking 50.23 meter-high statue of the town’s patron, Saint Vincent Ferrer, which was unveiled on April 5, 2019 just in time for the 405th founding anniversary of the town, the 400th year of the Saint Vincent Ferrer Parish in Bayambang, and the 600th year of martyrdom of the Dominican preacher. The colossal structure is made of engineered bamboo with a steel frame as "superstructure." Upon its launching, it earned the Guinness World Record for the newly created category of “Tallest and Highest Bamboo Sculpture (Supported).”

Right beside the statue is a modern chapel, also made of engineered bamboo materials.

According to the Park's architect, Ar. Jerry Suratos, the SVFPP measures a total of 21,000 square meters (2.1 hectares) and can accommodate 15,000 people at a time, with a parking lot for 120 cars, event places, and a 5-meter pathway for the Stations of the Cross to accommodate PWDs.

SVFPP serves as the first phase of the proposed 67-hectare new town center of Bayambang based on the town's updated Comprehensive Land Use Plan.

Today, the Prayer Park also houses several food establishments serving tourists and devotees as they travel north, particularly pilgrims touring the spiritual centers of the province of Pangasinan and the rest of northern Luzon. (by Resty S. Odon, LGU PIO/MTICAO)
