Christmas
season has officially begun in Bayambang with the opening of Paskuhan sa
Bayambang 2019 on the evening of November 15. Playing around the theme “Paskong
Disneyland sa Bayambang,” the celebration is dedicated to children and the
child-at-heart who grew up watching and loving the wonderful world of Disney
with all of its engrossing characters including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse,
Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Jasmine, Elsa and Anna, Ariel, Moana, and
Woody, among others, who each have transported us to the land of magic and
fantasy.
Bayambangueños
and guests enjoyed the parade of their beloved Disney characters and the
ceremonial Christmas lighting and ribbon-cutting for the Christmas Bazaar and
Food Stalls led by Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao, Vice-Mayor Raul R. Sabangan,
members of the Sangguniang Bayan, and Kasama Kita sa Barangay Foundation, Inc.
Managing Director Romyl Junio, with Hermano and Hermana Mayor Dr. Nicolas and
Dr. Myrna Miguel, and the LGU heads led by Municipal Administrator Atty.
Raymundo Bautista Jr. The audience was delighted to watch the first run of the
Animated Christmas Display which depicts the journey of Mickey Mouse who wishes
to be a king and the birth of the King of Kings, Jesus Christ. The animated
display is still recognized as the biggest in the entire country, and thousands
of tourists have been visiting the municipality since 2016 to witness the show
and experience Christmas in Bayambang.
This
year, the Local Government Unit has prepared weekly activities to look forward
to every Friday. It includes a Parol-Making Contest on November 29, Christmas
Carol Contest on December 6, Christmas Costume Contest on December 13, Live
Belen Contest on December 20, and Bamboo Cannon (Bong-bong)-Making Contest on
December 27. To add to this lineup of activities, there will also be a Mini
Concert and a Christmas and New Year countdown on December 24 and December 31
at the Municipal Plaza.
Northerners
no longer need to fly to other countries to experience the magic that
Disneyland has to offer, and through the collaboration of the LGU and the
stakeholders and the all-out support of the KKSBFI, Bayambang is all set to be
the happiest place in Northern Luzon.
