One
day a Fil-Am balikbayan went to Calasiao in search of the town’s famous
glutinous rice cake. He asked the market vendor, “Magkano ito’ng pyutow
nyow?”
With a little naughtiness in his bone, the vendor replied, “Anong gustow mow, yung pyula o yung pyuti?”
“O gustow mow i-try itong yube? (pronounced /yub/. Of course, he meant the purple yam flavor or the purple yam jam, ube halaya.)
